Process & Referral

How sociotherapy begins

A few formalities are needed – I take care of most of them together with your treating practice.

Step by step

The way to support

  1. Phone or email

    First contact

You, your relatives or your practice get in touch. We briefly discuss your situation and whether I have capacity.

  2. Form 26 or 28

    Referral

Your specialist or psychotherapist issues the prescription. GPs can open the way with a referral for assessment.

  3. up to 5 hours

    Trial sessions

We get to know each other and assess together whether sociotherapy is right for you. No prior insurance approval is needed for these sessions.

  4. Form 27

    Care plan

We set out your goals and next steps. The plan is agreed with your practice, signed by everyone and submitted to the health insurer together with the prescription.

  5. up to 120 hours

    Sociotherapy

After approval, regular sessions take place – at the practice, at your home or out and about. Roughly every two months we review progress with your practice.

Support ends when your goals are reached or the hours are used up.

For doctors & psychotherapists

Information for referring practices

Sociotherapy relieves your practice where patients get lost between appointments. I prepare the care plan, document progress and get in touch if anything significant changes.

The prescription must be approved by the health insurer before regular sociotherapy begins. If it is submitted within three working days of issue, the insurer covers the costs until it decides.

  • Muster 26Prescription of sociotherapy – up to 30 therapy units per prescription.
  • Muster 27Sociotherapeutic care plan – prepared by me in coordination with you.
  • Muster 28Referral for indication of sociotherapy, e.g. from a GP.

Entitled to prescribe, among others

  • Specialists in psychiatry and psychotherapy, neurology, nervous diseases and psychosomatic medicine
  • Psychological psychotherapists and specialist psychotherapists
  • Psychiatric outpatient clinics (PIA)
  • Each with approval from the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (KV)
